52 Texas Hold Em Poker Tips written by Barry Shulman is considered by many in the poker industry to be a great book on the game. The book has become a best-seller full of tips on the game.
This book will teach you quite a bit on the game. I believe the book would add the most value to amateurs who are still learning the game.
The book is cleverly structured into several categories which includes: Playing Before the Flop, Playing On The Flop, Playing On The Turn and Playing On the River. What I found most intriguing about the book is that Shulman wrote in great length about the mental aspects of the game, something that is usually not covered in enough detail in most poker books.
Another great thing about the book is that it is simple to read and easy to follow. Poker books can tend to get quite complicated at times, not this one.
However, if you are intermediate to advanced player then this book will be of little use to you. You will already know most of the material discussed in the book.
A flaw of the book is that it is mostly tips for limit Texas Hold Em poker. It has very little on no limit poker, which is a game more experienced players want to play. It is the type of poker where you can win the most money.
It also almost says nothing on tournaments and focuses on limit cash games.
Overall, quite an enjoyable book. I wouldn’t say it is best book written on the subject, but if you are starting out and want to improve your game then I would say it is definitely worth a read.
However, if you are serious about improving your game and want something even more powerful then 52 Texas Hold Em Poker Tips, then I recommend an online poker school.
